The Bettis'

A very warm welcome to the recently revamped bettis blog. As you may have noticed, our blog is no longer covered with links to a wedding website. This is because the wedding is now old news. This past Saturday in the chilly town of Seaside, Rachel & I made a covenant before God, friends, and family. Surprisingly, things went very well. Four month engagements do not lend much time to details, but thanks to some quality vendors and a professional Seaside staff, we had no problems. The two aspects of the wedding that were most important to us were the ceremony content & the photography.

David Burke & Seth Hammond were our pastors-extraordinare. The power of Christ compelled them and they did a wonderful job. We were so thankful to have them with us.

Rachel is a professional wedding photographer blog stalker and she had been stalking a photographer in Florida for some time - Vue Photography. Luckily, Genya was kind enough to shoot our wedding. We are freakin' jazzed about seeing the pictures, some of which have already made their way online. Genya also brought a friend with her, Molly Nevins of Atlanta. Molly is a seasoned photographer, adding weddings to her repertoire. Although Rachel hadn't had the pleasure of photoblog stalking molly, we have also been thrilled with the photos she has posted. We can't wait to see the finished collection. The thing that makes Genya & Molly cooler than every other photographer on the planet, they give you the pictures. So Rachel & I will be able to use the photos on our blog, make shutterfly things, etc. The possibilities are endless. Who knows, maybe I will get Rachel that life-size wedding throw she has always dreamed about. ha.

God is good and we are very happy to have this wedding mumbo-jumbo behind us. Although it was a wonderful event, during the last four months we haven't had a lot of time to dedicate to ourselves, each other, or those around us. We are excited for life to be 'normal' again.

As I type, we are honeymooning on the tropical beaches of Mexico. After a few hotel mix ups in the beginning, we have settled in and are having a wonderful time. Hopefully we will have nice tans to share for Christmas. Until then, there is a mojito at the bar and its calling my name!
