Well, we are back! We had a great time on the honeymoon which consisted of a lot of sleeping in, eating, laying by the pool, eating, laying by the beach, taking a nap, eating and that is about it. It was really great to be able to relax and just spend time together. However, we did had a few hiccups along the way.
Our first flight out of Atlanta was delayed which caused us to miss our second flight into Cancun. When we finally arrived to our resort, we were a bit disappointed and to make a long story short our travel agent got us switched to a resort just down the way that we loved. However we did spend our first night there in double beds.
We made it back to Knoxville just in time to do all of our Christmas shopping in one day! Yes, you heard me correctly. We had all day the 22nd to do our Christmas shopping that we never got a chance to do before because we were busy with the wedding. On the 23rd I wrapped them all and then we slid right into Christmas Eve. I made Christmas treats with Rob's mom and sister and then Rob and I headed to church followed by dinner at one of our favorites, Bonefish and the movie theater to see Four Christmases. Christmas morning we hung around our house and ate Cinnabon and opened presents and then we proceeded to go through wedding presents. That night we went to Rob's moms house and ate treats and watched Christmas Vacation (a tradition in Rob's family). Here are a few pictures from our Christmas adventures.
In all of this I have some how left out a very important part of the story. When we came home from the honeymoon we discovered that a family of mice had made our house their home while we were gone. What a lovely discovery that was. The pest control guy came out and we put traps and bate just about everywhere we could think to. However, when I opened Rob's coat closet downstairs I noticed a smell. Oh no! I just knew a mouse had eaten some of the poison and died in one of his coat pockets. The night before Christmas Eve Rob tried to get one of his coats out after much persuasion and had a mouse run across the top of the rack. He called me and when I got home later that night we decided that we had to go through the closet because Rob was scared to put on any of his coats. This ended up looking like me patting down the coats and when I deemed them mouse free I hung them on the sand wedge (golf club) that he was holding out away from himself and he hung them in the garage to air out. At about the fifth coat I had the mouse run out of the closet to which I screamed bloody murder and as I watched it run into my kitchen I went after it. I caught it by the tail and hind legs with my foot, got freaked out, let it go, came back to my senses and then caught it again and screamed for Rob who was in the garage. Rob could not believe I went after the mouse and handed me the sand wedge to whack it with. I tried and just could not bring myself to do it so Rob had to kill it while under my foot. Oh what a night.
So far the death count is at 7 and we have not seen any signs of the little fellas in about a week so things are looking up!
